New Glarus Brewing Co., renowned for its popular beers like Spotted Cow and Moon Man Pale Ale, is launching a $55 million expansion at its Hilltop Facility in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The 65,000-square-foot project will provide new space for brewing, distilling, office operations, retail, and a beer depot. This addition reflects the company’s growth while maintaining a focus on customer experience and operational efficiency.

The expansion addresses a key challenge for the brewery—limited visitor parking. With thousands of guests visiting the brewery, its current 53-stall lot has caused congestion and forced weekend closures. To solve this, the new design incorporates a stepped layout that connects the facility to a flat area below the hill, providing expanded parking without compromising the terrain.

In line with its sustainable approach, the project will feature eco-friendly initiatives, including grass roofs and a geothermal field to reduce energy consumption. Founded nearly three decades ago by Deborah and Dan Carey, New Glarus Brewing has grown into one of the largest craft brewers in the U.S., currently ranking 12th among the top 50 by the Brewers Association.
